Subjects

Dave has spoken on a range of subjects over the years, but these are his main lines of thought at the moment:

Your Customer Community

The buying behaviors of businesses and consumers have changed significantly. What are successful businesses doing differently in acknowledgment of and in response to these shifts? In this discussion, we discover the importance of community and affiliation to our customers and how these are the driving force behind their decision making criteria. After identifying the three keys to building a better member-like experience, we discuss the four actions that will assist businesses in building a better community relationship for its customers.

Effective Relationships are Selfless Commitments

The modern business relationship has become more focused than ever on value. Social networks have rendered the simple assembly of a rolodex of contacts irrelevant. People only have time for those relationships that are of value to them. And value is derived from how effectively these connections provide access to resources and solutions. This conversation helps participants recognize the difference between “old school” relationships and “trusted resource” relationships. Once we understand the differences, we educate participants on engaging in the behaviors and communications to make them relationship leaders.

What is Said, What is Heard, and What Happens Next

It is said that communication is only 7% words and 93% of inflection, tone, and pace. True. However, the words people choose and whether we hear them tell us more than we realize. Effective communication is all about listening, paying attention to, and understanding the message. In this presentation, we explore the three components to effective listening. We then focus on the Five Understandings that educate participants on incorporating what was communicated into quantifiable actions and accountabilities which are clearly defined and accepted by all participants.

Putting Reluctant Forces into Motion
How do you inspire people? How do you create advocates and supporters? How do create a culture that empowers and engages people to take action on an idea or a concept? How do you motivate others to rally around your cause? And how do you do this from nothing? In this presentation, Dave draws on his 25 years of business experiences to inspire people to make movements from literally nothing other than a passionate idea. And he helps people recognize that they all have the power to take any concept and turn it into a movement.
